STA-RITE Max-E-Therm Low 400 Pool and Spa Heater

STA-RITE Max-E-Therm Low 400 Pool and Spa Heater – Things You Need To Know

Most of the problems with the STA-RITE Max-E-Therm Low 400 Pool and Spa Heater come from operator error and not following instructions. Common problems include, not turning the heater off after use, turning it on when there is no water circulating in the pool and not covering it back after use.

If you would like to use the heater, you to watch my step by step YouTube video.

For Daytime Use

The pool is on, and the water is circulating.

  • Caution: Do not turn on the STA Rite pool heater before ensuring that the water is flowing in the hot-tub or pool. Failing to do this will result in damage to the heater element.
  • Heating the pool: Go to Star Rite heater and press the pool on or spa on button. ( Note this option uses lots of gas.) Do not forget to turn the Star Rite heater off when you finished.
  • Heating up the Hot-Tub: Point the tips of the two red levers to the road or the nine o’clock position. No other levers should be moved. Go to Star Rite heater and press the pool on or spa on button. ( heating up the hot-tub is my preferred option because this uses less gas.) Do not forget to turn the Star Rite heater off when you finished.

For Nighttime Use

The pool is off, and you have to turn it on. If it’s in the evening and the system is off, go into the intermatic box and override the on/off auto controls by sliding the lever to the off position. At this point, the pool should turn on. Please watch my YouTube video to learn how to do this.

  • When you are finished using the Sta Rite heater, please remember to turn the heater off, return the red leaves to the 12 o’clock position and return the override switch to the off position so the pool can come on automatically in the morning
